Multi-Factor Authentication Is Coming Soon!
Be Prepared! Update your contact information before November 4, 2025!
In ongoing effort to protect our members’ account access, we are implementing Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) in both our mobile app and online banking environments. Also known as “two-factor” or “two-step” verification, MFA is a security process that requires more than just a username and password to gain access to your account information. This change will be implemented on November 4th, 2025.
Now is the time to make sure that you have a valid phone number to receive a text message (SMS) or email address in our records. When you login, on or after 11/4/2025, you will be prompted to choose to receive a message with your MFA code to either a phone number via SMS text message, or email address to receive an email with your login code. Without the login code, members will be unable to login to online banking! We want the transition to be as smooth as possible, please log in today or contact us to verify and update your contact information.
MFA has been implemented for account information changes for some time now, however, on 11/04/2025, Quest FCU will be implementing this security feature for all login activity with It’s Me 247 Online Banking or the Quest FCU Mobile App. Members will not need to use MFA every time you log in. Once enabled, every member will be asked to authenticate. After the initial login, however, you will be asked to verify your identity in the following situations:
- If you log in from a new location or device
- Periodically, when time between logging in has passed
- If you’re using a different Wi-Fi network or changing locations (your IP address has changed)
- If you reset your security questions or make certain changes to your account
For most members, MFA will be a quick and occasional step to confirm your identity when something changes in your login pattern.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)?
Multi-factor authentication is a security feature that helps to protect your account by requiring more than just a username and password. Members are required to authenticate using a one-time code that will be sent via text message (SMS) or email. Once provided, the code allows access to your account. This additional layer of security helps to ensure that account owners are the only authorized individuals able to access the account, even if a username and/or password has been compromised.
How can I verify my contact information?
Members can verify their phone numbers and email address within online banking by going to Settings (top right corner), then Personal Information, perform verification, then perform review.
Additionally, members can contact Quest FCU directly at (800) 333-9571 to speak with a member service representative to verify current information. Updates can take place at this time as well.
What if I change my phone number or email?
If a member changes their phone number or email address, please update your account before changing these contact methods. This will ensure uninterrupted access to online banking and mobile app access.
Members can update their phone numbers and email address within online banking by going to Settings (top right corner), then Personal Information, perform verification, then Edit Personal Information.
Members may also contact Quest Federal Credit Union at (800) 333-9571 and provide updates with a member service representative.
Does MFA change biometric login options?
No. Members will still be able to use biometric login options, however, MFA will be the final step in the login process once enabled and when needed to authorize account access on a periodic basis, regardless of whether a fingerprint, voice, photo ID, or PIN was already entered earlier as part of the same authentication process.
Can I opt out of MFA?
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is a mandatory security feature for accessing Quest FCU Mobile App and It’s Me 247 Online Banking, beginning November 4, 2025. MFA is an additional layer of security and protection for your account. Should a member prefer not to use MFA, online banking access will be prevented and the member will need to contact Quest FCU, using phone banking, or visiting a branch in person.
